Instructions :
Step 1: Prepare your robot files
Ensure you have the files for your robot. They typically have an .ex4 or .mq4 file extension.
Step 2: Place the files in the MT4 folder
1. Open the MetaTrader 4 platform.
2. In the top menu, click File -> Open Data Folder.
3. In the Windows folder window that appears, navigate to the MQL4 folder, then open the Experts folder.
4. Paste your downloaded robot files (.ex4 or .mq4) here.
5. Close the folder window and restart the MT4 platform (close it and open it again).
Step 3: Enable automated trading in the settings
1. In the top MT4 menu, go to Tools -> Options.
2. Navigate to the Expert Advisors tab.
3. Check the "Allow automated trading" option.
4. Also, check "Allow DLL imports" – many advanced robots require this.
5. Click OK.
Step 4: Launch the robot on a chart
1. In the Navigator panel on the left side of the screen, expand the Expert Advisors section. If you do not see it, use the keyboard shortcut CTRL + N.
2. Locate your robot in the list, click on it, and drag it onto the chart of your chosen currency pair.
3. The robot's settings window will appear. In the "Common" tab, ensure that the "Allow live trading" box is checked.
4. In the "Inputs" tab, you can adjust the robot's variables (e.g., position size, Stop Loss/Take Profit levels). Click OK.
Step 5: Final activation
Look at the top toolbar in MT4 and locate the "AutoTrading" (or "Algorithmic Trading") button.
• If it is red, click it so that it turns green.
• A smiley face should appear in the top-right corner of your chart, next to the robot's name. If the face is smiling, the robot is working correctly. If it is frowning, go back to steps 3 and 4 and check the trading permissions.
