Существует такой вот текст на выше упомянутом форуме (инвест), процитирую:
"Scam Warning: Forex Sensation
Hello,
I've had a few people ask me about the recent Forex Sensation contest that allegedly tested 784 EAs, qualified 29 of them, found one "winner" and is selling it for $987.
I did some research and found that this is the same company that hosted the Forex Robot World Cup (FRWC) in 2009-2010. Of course that website is long gone but if you don't remember it, you can read a little bit about it here: ***
And:
The physical address posted on the FRWC site was preserved in the MQL4 forum and matches the address found on the Forex Sensation site. It's also the same tactic that Forex Sensation used.
There is some debate about whether they actually took EA submissions from developers, or if they created their own EAs and wrote stories and names behind them.
Either way, I believe this is a semi-scam (a valid product with very deceiving marketing). Here is an explanation of how a "contest" like this could work:
Step 1) Collect 30 EAs that use various strategies (either build your own, use free ones, or convince programmers to build you some for free).
Step 2) Trade those 30 EAs for 90 days at a high risk level.
Step 3) Post the results on a fake "contest" website, declaring the best one to be the winner.
Step 4) Sell it like crazy for $987 even though it will likely fail as soon as the market conditions change.
What if one of the 30 EAs doesn't make huge results? No problem, just run them for another 90 days. Repeat until you find the right market conditions for one of the EAs to blossom, then sell like mad.
I'm calling this a "scam" because of the marketing tactic. It's easy to set up a bunch of EAs, trade them for 90 days, pick the best one and declare it a great product. Throw enough mud at the wall and some of it will stick. In any given 90-day period, there will always be a few strategies that do well.
It's not hard to find an EA that does well in one or two market conditions: the hard part is finding strategies that survive through all types of market conditions. I'm not saying the Forex Sensation's top EA is bad, I'm just saying that a 90-day "contest" is a poor way to make a $987 decision.
